When Tragedy Strikes, Make It About You
It’s no shocker that when calamity occurs, some folks are just itching to seize the moment and turn it into a PR bonanza. Enter Donald Trump, the Twitter warrior and current president who’s picked an awful time to stretch his inability to govern into another moronic blame game. Imagine that: a plane crash leads to a press conference with Trump referring to Democrats, Obama, and DEI as the root of all evil. Because, you know, that totally tracks!
Racism: A Dreary Return
As reports began streaming in about the tragic plane crash by Reagan National Airport, instead of expressing heartfelt condolences and focusing on the victims, Trump went off on a wild accusatory rant. He claimed, “The Democrats have made it increasingly dangerous to fly with their woke policies!” Now, I don’t know about you, but last time I checked, a safe airplane ride didn’t depend on who’s running the DEI department in D.C. And call me skeptical when the guy behind the podium is the same individual who garners headlines for his racism rather than remarkable leadership.
Passing the Blame
Joining Trump in this twisted charade is VP JD Vance, who chimed in with his own brand of incompetence, asserting that “woke policies got us here.” You can’t help but wonder which policies Vance is referring to—perhaps the ones designed to actually prevent tragedies in the first place? What a delightful twist of logic! And let’s not forget Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, whose contribution of “under this administration, tragedy has become a tactic” truly encapsulates the whole cabal of incompetence.
In the grand tradition of Team Trump, they continue to exploit visceral reactions and media shock points to rally their brain-dead MAGA base, all while showing unyielding indifference to the very tragedy they’re so insidiously profiting from. So, what’s left to say but, keep flying safely folks, and let’s hope we land this crap fest before it crashes beyond repair!
